BPRW is always in need of volunteers! Prior experience with parrots and/or other birds is helpful but not necessary.

What is necessary is a love and respect for birds, a willingness to learn and the ability to make a commitment. Because parrot rescue organisations do not benefit from the same funding and support as dog and cat shelters, we rely heavily on volunteer help.

Volunteers can work hard! And because of the complex nature of these intelligent creatures, we invest a great deal of time training a volunteer. For this reason we are not able to accept “casual” help.

Volunteers must be over the age of 18.

Volunteers are needed to transport birds and their cages, to the nearest Safehouse, and make visits to inspect homes before adoptions can take place.
